Each year we hope to invite new instructors to the FABAIC, along with the Masters of Face and  Body Painting. Some previous Instructors may choose not to teach but are excited to be part of the convention and will be jamming, assisting and showcasing their artwork.

What should I bring? Bring your painting kit or a mini version of your kit, or at the very least a few pots of paint and a few brushes to practice.  Bring or arrange for a model if you are planning on entering the competitions. The FABAIC hosts one of the largest marketplaces  with all the major vendors if you forget something or want to try the latest products. Pack your camera, extra film/memory, paper, pen, business cards, samples of your work, sunscreen, bathing suit, light sweater or jacket, and money to shop!

What is a Jam? A jam at the FABAIC can only be describes as the biggest painting party you ever attended. In the evenings everyone gathers in one large room with their paints. While some show off their body painting talents, others face painting each other to practice what they learned during the day. Instructors walk around to help you and to answer any questions you may have. Bring your camera. The artwork you will see during the jams is over the top! There are additional special events being planned so check back often for updates.

What is Show and Tell? Show and Tell is a time when participants get a chance to share their practical ideas with everyone. To participate in this fun, creative and very informative presentation. Please contact us.

Can I bring my kids? We offer wonderful children (4-11) and young adult (7-14) classes with age appropriate classes separate from the adults but taught at the same times. We encourage you to bring your kids and treat them to learn fun skills that encourage and motivate and can be put to use in many ways in their future. We offer a discounted registration for children but do not offer babysitting services.
Children are not allowed in the adult classrooms during the day however they are welcome at the jams until 10:00PM.

What is Orientation? Orientation is where we welcome first timers to the convention. Our Instructors will guide you on how to make the best of your investment. This is also the time and place where all your questions will be answered. Good Ambassadors, (volunteer past convention attendees) will be introduced that you may know who to approach for personal help in choosing the classes that are best for you. They are the new friend that will hold your hand, introduce you to other friends and make you feel warm and welcome.

Where do I volunteer to be a Good Ambassador? Send an e mail to Marcela@fabaic.com. You’ll be glad you did!

I’m a beginner face painter. Is the FABAIC too advanced for me? Not at all! We offer classes on all levels with beginner’s classes in every time slot. Classes are marked clearly on the schedule and the Good ambassadors are there to help you make the choices that are right for you.

Do I have to bring my kit? Yes as most of the classes are hands-on. For these bring a compact kit as table space is limited. Bring everything you have to the jams as the jams gives you a wonderful opportunity to try new products other painters are using and to learn how to use the ones in your kit.

Does my spouse need to pay for a registration? Not unless he/she wants to take classes. They will not be allowed in the convention area during the day but are welcome to join you at the jams.

Is there anything for my spouse to do during the day? In the past, many attendees brought their spouses, a family member or friend to the FABAIC to take advantage of our incredible marketing track. While they trained to improve their skills they concentrate on attending all the marketing classes and learning how to help you increase your bookings, succeed in your business and double your profit margin. This makes for a win-win situation for everyone involved as they benefit from commissions made for booking you and you benefit from an increase in bookings. To take advantage of this great opportunity they must be register for the convention. There is also a 5 star golf course, 3 amazing pools and a spa at the new Hyatt Bonaventure!

Is there a Shuttle? YES!!!
